2022 Wine Awards – McMinnville Food and Wine Classic

We are pleased to share the following Resolu Cellars wines received recognition by the international judging team at McMinnville Food & Wine Classic. 
  • Gold – 2018 Triomphe Signature Blend
    The 2018 Triomphe vintage reflects the 38-month journey from vine to bottle and what our team feels is the best blend of the principal Bordeaux varietals for that year. 2018 final blend: 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 20% Merlot, 17% Petit Verdot, 13% Malbec. We are honored that this esteemed team of judges agreed. 
  • Silver – 2018 Pinot Noir
    Our Oregon Pinot Noir is sourced from Tressler, a small family-owned vineyard, just north of Newberg in the Chehalem Mountains AVA, Willamette Valley.  Meticulously tended by Gregg & Liz Colwell we find this fruit produces a consistent wine our customers love.
2018 ‘Triomphe’ ($48) – 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 20% Merlot, 17% Petit Verdot, 13% Malbec. The deep red with youthful acid and zippy tannins offer complexity and make for a wine that is very approachable. The earthy intensity of the nose is met with a palate full of gentle tannins that are more refined and controlled, than extroverted. See if your nose picks up the cherry vanilla, sarsaparilla before you experience the full mouthfeel of dark fruit and light cedar that leads to a long finish. 2018 Pinot Noir ($36) – This vintage truly represents what we’ve come to know and love about Tressler Vineyard and the 22 months aged in oak only exposed to Pinot. Its deep ruby color and the aromas of sandalwood, cherry, and strawberry with hints of pomegranate greet you at first swirl. Cherry and very ripe raspberry on the front-mid palate with lingering oak, mid-body tannin, and pleasant acidity which leave a lingering finish. This is another excellent Burgundian style Pinot.
